About Jody

Picture
Some say, “Those who can’t do, teach.”

Jody Worrell proves the best can do both.

For 45 years Jody enjoyed a performance career most guitarists would envy. A career built solely on his amazing guitar skills. He has played with acclaimed artists from every genre, including Francine Reed, Trudy Lynn, Lyle Lovett, Ted Nugent, Delbert McClinton, and Phil Collins. He has been honored to jam on the world’s greatest stages, including Nashville’s Grand Ole Opry and Switzerland’s Montreux Jazz Festival.

Now it’s time to focus on teaching, Jody’s true passion. Jody has always loved to share his craft with young guitarists and helping them unlock the secret to great music.

“I love that moment when the student sees an idea or technique in a new and understandable way…Teaching is an exercise in finding just the right way to present a concept so that an otherwise mysterious or confusing idea becomes clear.”

Over the years, Jody has created an impressive library of instructional materials that are becoming his legacy. His teaching books are accessible and can help both aspiring and accomplished guitarists. Whether teaching Clapton or Hendrix, rock or blues, Jody is the master. By harnessing technology, Jody reaches students all around the globe with videos, teaching books, Skype lessons and from his studio in Atlanta.
